The Indian railways achievement feathers that claim for change in the coaches is showing the mirage to the passenger as it is not only the trains need to be changed but also the in-house conditions but apparently the Indian ministry for railways has expanded its policies, technology and its import but the real understanding of hygiene conditions in the coaches is yet to be change; yes change is yet arrive.

As a passenger I was travelling in a first class air conditioned compartment in Karnataka express from Delhi to Bangalore starting at Delhi with a co passenger an investment banker and a small mouse in the compartment which was enjoying a roam free ride in my compartment that perturbed me a little bit to feel jealous with the liberty of mouse against breach of my comfort and concentration in journey, I immediately rang bell to call the boy to complain the presence of mouse the railway boy who was there to look after our complaints gave me unhappy gesture and dictated me that mouse roam everywhere sir don’t worry it will not harm you sleep worriless, this is the irony after paying an extra charge of amount amongst the other fellow passenger in train I took berth only to sleep, worry less with a mouse. How come people ignore that humans are different from animals’ perhaps Indian railways had adopted rats for their trains.

This is the sad irony of our civilization we got compassion more for animals than humans who live in poverty and relative deprivation and the former in human laps and huts in lavish green grass the later cannot anticipate for the same concern from their brethren because the railways don’t permit it and either they are ridiculed or ask to run away because as they are not the lucky mouse. This makes us different that we ask for change but we don’t change but I had to persuade myself to adjust my journey with a mouse. All that I could put my epitaph of defeat by wishing happy journey to Mouse.

The next thing came to me I express the achievement case study to Indian railways through media to experiment next time with other animals calling tenders for Indian trains perhaps cats will compliment rats for a live tom and jerry animal show with paid passengers .now i understand what is equality and our country believes in equality and makes no discrimination between animals and humans so I like to convey a travel advisory to all the people travelling from Indian railways don’t expect anything because you will be privileged to receive the unexpected; The Organization People for ethical treatment for animals and animal activist must take the sign and honor Indian Railways for keeping love for animals; India will be as India than growing as Singapore or Dubai to anticipate London or USA is something aspiring for moon.

There is limit for everything I don’t understand when our system became mature even after turning sixty a department that is nationally  important find excuses for their inefficiency in work to accommodate rats in service; this is absurd that we made to believe we are becoming superpower and sustainable. I was helpless in my travel compartment and the mouse appeared more super power and took the upper berth above me.

The Indian railway in the next budget should announce special package for rats to travel anyplace anytime with anyone.

The Map Guy

Raju is busy in Rajender Nagar on street of Delhi selling the country and world in maps form to the people for barely minimum price for making his day living with hard bargaining to receive less selling and more humiliation by people who ask him to run away from them without least concerned to understand his need to survive perhaps his marketing skills are put down in defeat to only renew in hope to apply next person.

I was touched by Raju’s struggle for his life who has learned the map very well to endure his customer he states the names of river, continents, and boundaries of Asia and of course the quality of maps hang on his back walking behind people to maneuver them to purchase his product from one end to other end. As I was moving back home from my walk, Raju approach me with his collection of map and solemnly invited me to have a look at maps to choose one according to my use. Though I was not in need to conquer the world but I was pleased by Raju’s courtesy and his pleasantness to sell me the map.

The great nuances in we Indians is that we never learn the art of map reading as compare to the west citizens; we take it more aerial route to ask the address from anyone stranger to find our destination but we don’t refer the maps to reach our end. I was also amused how technology has snapped the livelihood of many art workers and marketers like raju who take the effort to bring the address of world on paper and make living nevertheless the shrinking of maps into formats of electronic maps, with GPS are increasing yet we prefer atlas and conventional maps to learn the geography, history, and geo-political knowledge.

Raju is a common man who is trying find his bread for the day by selling maps from one corner to another corner and there are many raju’s in India who are striving hard to handle life for two square meals with whatever they are fetching to survive whether in hotels, streets, homes, and in other miscellaneous jobs. Their goal for the day is to earn to live that also come with added responsibility for them to look after their family in city or by sending salaries to their towns above their needs the most important to fulfill familial needs irrespective of their  health and undesired living  conditions they have  to manage and keep going on.

They have no reason or time to think than manage their work other than spend time to agitate or find alternative recreation way to keep them happy, happiness has taken the shape of work to them and they are happy or adjusted to be happy with it. These are mortals who quench their thirst with water comparing to the people who cannot survive without cold drink, or bear to walk under sun with great difficulty due to their air conditioning and spend lavish money of their parents in paying taxes of big restaurant and bars and sometime do charity for namesake to their drivers, servants, and child beggars on street against their persistent request; The contrast in society make me helpless to break all rules and share the true equality among society to equate raju and others against the hypocrisy of life but perhaps my utopian wish can be only fulfilled by what  I and raju share in common Hope thy God to make things better on earth.

I asked Raju about his life though he believe in hope but yet blame destiny for his conditions rather hard to manage life and complaint miserability of fortune, as everyone are not lucky to have good childhood with good education and parenthood. Yet few out of them became brilliant in many ways and some always struck in the pretense of life. Raju is finding the way from the cross roads in travesties of life nonetheless those children with all facilities and merits most time miss their way and turn to bad habits and resulting in bad guy or girl against the’ good’. This really makes me difficult to understand why such discrimination when we all worship uniform ‘God’ the hope in distinct ways. I feel our country has enamored with programs policies and plans with leaps and bounds of budget spending in names of Raju than why these benefits don’t touch life of raju in concrete way to facilitate them a decent living. The fruits of empowerment with good health, education, and happy life are the dream wish for raju that is unknown to him when they will come to reality in his life.

The world is turning to be selfish cluster of jamboree and cut throat competition has made it categorical to think for them than others to extricate, accumulate and snatch against others for self. Looking at raju for a moment my heart filled in profound sympathy and gratitude to god for blessing a wonderful my life truly. I thought we need to think of mutual needs and brought maps for his need than mine and prayed sincerely may god bless Raju a good Life with peace and prosperity.

Iam Kalam

I am penning my impression about a movie which I saw recently after it made lot of news  in media and people perhaps as I am not a movie freak but I was apprehensive about watching this movie ‘Iam Kalam’ as the movie grabbing the maximum stars for its deserve. I like to candidly mention here that from peppli live to stanely ka dabba and Iam kalam these special subjects reflects about social evils existing  Indian society on screen and the practices which is on the decline in paper but flourishing in practice.

To recall peepli live was a different subject and stanely ka dabba was a creative theme highlighting the child labor but I am kalam more than problem oriented is an inspirational movie which somewhere excel stanely because of indomitable presence of Former president Dr APJ Abdul kalam and his inspiring message to success in life the need is to focus on actions than destiny by setting goal, getting education, working hard and having courage through application of righteous means than wishing destiny to do the means to take you towards end.

The characters in the movie have been immaculately portrayed as the central character chottu Viz Kalam who come with his mother to work in Dhaba which is attached to the royal heritage bunglow residence cum tourist hotel. The Dhaba is looked by ambitious Bhatti (Glushan Grover) who like to enhance his sales by luring the foreign visitors accepts Kalam on the request of his mother to meet their two square meals

Kalam is a child prodigy and learn things quickly and impress everyone with his pleasantries he make friendship with the female camel laksmi and start working with his senior lapton; Lucy is another character a music artist who plays a window of hope for  kalam’s life who promise kalam to take him to Delhi and teach him French also help to join him school; she is secret love of Bhatti Mama of Kalam who keep trying  to woe her but unable convey his feelings before knowing the reality that leaves him in no mans’ land.

The movie holds another important character Ranvijay a little royal prince who belongs to the same age of kalam but feel isolated and bored in his royal bunglow due to absence of friends. Ranvijay is equally important character to note how children became the victim of sophisticated parenthood who indulge in their business and miss the care needs for their children; his father who is the Royal highness and supreme instructs his child to make friendship only with royal blood is prejudices of society that how Indian society is one but in divisions. Ranvijay somewhere fuels kalam character in the contrast where he makes friendship with kalam and both the kids coming together and share their attitudes and belongings; the contrast between both kids especially kalam to learn English wish to go school, and meet President Dr. Kalam is not only wish of kalam but numerous children who are stifle in the child labour practice whereas ranvijay learning hindi, French and winning trophy in speech competition with the help of kalam get his ambition from kalam to open schools for children like kalam.

The contrast of both kids can be visualized how two nations existed in our one country with the shadow of vices before the picture the shinning India that every time effort to correct its shadow confront the cultural lag and ethnocentrism between the words and deeds to deliver for the most needed. The movie get into an abrupt climax by the manager of the hotel blaming kalam to be a thief for the gifts given by the Royal prince, though kalam pleads for his ignorance he is accused by everyone and in anguish kalam runaway to Delhi to meet Dr Kalam only to find his good promise friend coming in search of him and gifting his life his wish to educate and enlighten to work on the lessons of President Dr Abdul Kalam ending the movie into new beginning.

This is not the first time that Indian film industry has projected the sensitivities and social evils existing in practice under the veil of government in society, it should alarm the policy makers that much has to be done to make all well on ground particularly to bring children like kalam under ambit of education with right to education and sarva siksha abhiyan program the menace of child labor can punch out only if we not just watch movies but learn a lesson from it.

The movie is well appreciated and good choice if selected as indian entry for the oscars honor however the NGO smile foundation producing the movie for better cause to highlight the problem is a good sign but I am also apprehensive that this should not became an alternative opportunity to divert the social welfare funds from the welfare pause to wealth cause.

The Crisis.

The principle of democracy as quoted by the former president of USA Abraham Lincoln Democracy is by the people for the people and of the people but apparently for Indian parliamentarians who are yet to understand this virtue that parliament is a place to contest for the issues of people than make noise or read the famous Urdu couplets nevertheless one would find great deficit in the audit of Indian parliament working hours and wastage hours through adjournments and logjam resulting the great loss to the exchequer and national interest. The monsoon session of Indian parliament was expected to complete its paramount business on vital issues like inflation, food security, right to privacy etc for common man but the stubborn attitude of opposition and other political parties has reflected that Indian parliamentary exercise with prudence with self interest motive that has to mature our leaders attitude to reform and live up to people’s expectations.

The need is to bring the sensitization to understand about leaders who misrepresent us in Indian parliament rather voicing concerns lead in jamming the progress of parliamentary business; it is farce that our parliamentary proceedings come across cases of bribe paid to leaders to ask questions in the parliament. After the six decades of democratic rule the political institution is yearning to reform itself professionally and principally in ethics and in area of functioning with integrity. The day is yet to arrive when Indian politics is quoted as the institution of excellence striving for people removing the vices like criminals running elections, delivering pro people administration with good governance in transparent and accountable equity for people; our leaders becoming role models for the generation next to take up politics to serve society. Nevertheless the shortcomings in political institution particularly governance is different from the author expectations which touched with malice like corruption, scams, and breach of ethics that bring great censure to the sovereignty of Indian parliament.

The national parties like congress and BJP that has rechristened itself in alliance as UPA and NDA has left with little ideology and more ideas for maneuvering the calculations for power may it be in continuing the alliance with DMK with A raja’s Saga of corruption against the nation in 2G spectrum case or The petrol pump scams and the defense ministry bringing disrepute in Coffin deals for martyrs under NDA regime; or the fresh influential exposure by former Karnataka lokayukta who unmask the BJP’S  true face in Karnataka under the shadow of power a chief minister who brought nothing but shame to the party with difference and democratic culture by indulging in misappropriation of power.

The evil practices and exposure of crisis in morality in political institution has resulted in the trust deficit by creating a gap between politics and the young India today who wish to see their future somewhere else but not in politics. The people has been taken for granted on the vote account for long time  but now the time has come either the political institution clear its premises on its own or let we the people take the task into our hands to clean up the rotten mentality of tolerating the intolerable.  The solution to the mess around us is to stand up and don’t just ask for change be the change from these agility of exploitation. We have to show them the true meaning of democracy for us and let us collectively have the tryst in making Indian democracy a distinct democracy of world.

Yes we can do it.
